TIPPING AT WHALENS

TIPPING AT WHALENS

Postby BLACKCRUSADER » Fri May 10, 2013 5:13 pm

Yesterday I went to Whalens on An He Road for some lunch. Place was pretty full but I got a seat.

After great food and service I tried to give a 15% tip on the bill to the waitress. Alex refused to let me do that. Anyways I managed to sneak some money into his staff tips jar.

It's such a pity when other so called expat website owners can only offer a discount card so their members can ask for a 10% discount on their 2 pieces of toast costing NT$20.

I rarely patronize places north of Tainan; but on occasion, when I do, if the situation warrants it, I will slip a NT$100 note or so into the hands of a deserving server.

And yes...I do the same here in Tainan when the situation calls for it.
