Never met this guy, but I know of him, heard the stories and this doesn't surprise me a bit. Just another SMTW (slow moving train wreck). A twenty year vet isn't he? Man. What is it with some people? *edit* and what I mean by this is that, AFAIK, this kind of reckless behavior isn't new

Getting shot wasn't exactly striking it lucky, and I don't care for the racist video, but at least he's not more seriously hurt for making a really dumb move.

So, according to the always accurate initial media report, buddy was stopped at a drinking and driving check point, took off, was chased, stopped, took off again, managed to cause a couple of cops to wipe out, there was a scuffle, somehow a police baton ended up nicely bent, and buddy was shot in the leg. That about right?

It amazes me what people are willing to risk over the price of cab fare. Aside from the lives of anyone else on the road, his life here is pretty much flushed... after, what, twenty years?

I have it on good authority that the KTV Driver did it. In fact that fat guy wasn't even on the bike you can see the video is clearly doctored.

No prosecutor will touch this case. It will be handed down and forgotten about.

While it's admirable to be loyal to one's friends, I would expect my friends to give me hell if I pulled a stunt like this. If you read of a local doing something similar, I imagine the comments here would be a lot different. I don't know the guy personally, and Apple Daily is hardly the world's most professional paper ("胖老外" ... WTF? ) so I will refrain from passing any judgement, but I sincerely hope he realises how close he came to permanently ruining other people's lives as well as his own. No excuse at all for drink driving, especially - as Jaboney said - when there are simple, inexpensive alternatives in Taiwan.

He deserved getting shot. Lucky he wasnt killed. I wonder what the reaction would have been from Maoman if his friend had been shot to death?

Which rules would those be, hun? The ones which state that personal friends of the accused will be allowed to dominate threads, post lies and distortions and otherwise get away with attacking people in the name of protecting their friend from criticism they deserve?
