Many years ago I was at a party getting drunk and rowdy. It was in the afternoon when the party ended. A friend and I had ridden together in his car. I was too drunk to drive, and he was too drunk to drive, also. However, we both jumped into his car and started out from the party to head home. Since we were both drunk, we decided not to turn on any music and just completely focus on the task at hand, driving drunk back to town via the freeway.

Except......all of a sudden, two stoooopid Army pukes driving their tricked out Ford Escort GTs came screaming up behind us racing and cutting in and out of traffic trying to look cool in their shitty cars! One of them passed us and lost control doing a really neat lane change and crashed into the left concrete jersey barrier and then careened back across the lanes heading straight for us! We slammed on the brakes just in time to avoid him T-boning us as he smashed into the right side concrete jersey barrier and then careened back across the lanes hitting two other cars in the process.

As we were sighing with relief that we escaped this shitty accident, another one of the Army pukes in his white Ford Escort GT rear-ended us with an incredible impact

Our car was still functioning and the adrenalin rush of what had just happened to us, plus the effect of being shitfaced drunk caused us to hit the gas pedal and speed away from the accident as fast as we could. We made many turns down surface side streets until we were sure that nobody had followed us from the accident site. . It's a miracle that nobody died that day

1. Why did we leave the scene of the accident?

We were both drunk, absolutely over the limit, and shouldn't have been driving. However, we were not at fault for this accident and didn't feel that we should end up with career ending incidents due to these other fuck wads who caused the whole thing.

If we had stayed at the scene, it wouldn't have mattered who caused it, it wouldn't have mattered how many people would have been able to corroborate that we weren't culpable for the accident. We would have been at fault. It was a choice we made in the blink of an eye. Not much thought went through our pickled brains as it happened so quickly.

2. Did this accident change our lives?

You bet it did. All I could think about was "What if someone had been killed?" "What if the guy who rear-ended us had pushed us into someone else and our car killed somebody?" "What if someone finds out?, What if the cops are looking for us? if, what if!?!?!?"

Thats why I support Zain Dean and declare him innocent, even if he did do it. I wonder if there is any video surveilance of showing exactly what happened in the moments just prior to Mr. Dean's car allegedly hitting Mr. Huang on his scooter.

I don't lose sleep over him and the dummies sucked into his plot deserve what they get. Stupidity may not be illegal, but it sure is punishable.
I know four people personally, who knew, hung out with, had business dealings with ZD, all essentially say he's a piece of shit, a liar, a con man and unable to accept blame. It's not my place to say any more than I already have in public. Those in the know aren't as mean as me, apparently. Too bad in this case.

Latest news, and, of course, this isn't "official", that is it hasn't appeared in any of the papers, you know, like the one where the guy's being specifically labeled as having commited an act for which he has yet to be tried, but latest news is they're taking forever to go to trial because the already circumstantial evidence is so weak, no Prosecutor will touch the case, it being pretty apparent it'll get thrown out the first day.

A forensic expert has identified numerous places where the security cam tapes from the KTV were clearly tampered with, and not very skillfully, either.

Upon cursory examination, none of the KTV employee's stories matched, and were consistently contradicted by their cell phone records.
The driver kid's deposition was wildly inconsistent and apparently collapsed upon even basic follow up questioning.
More than 5 Prosecutors have passed on going to trial, and it's apparently been hot-potatoed down to like the most junior staff, like under-30s, and they don't even want it. As always, not stating guilt or otherwise, but there cetainly isn't, as some of us discussed previously, anything even remotely like a case here.

As for dozing through the incident, I think ZD indicated that the kid pretty much had to shake him awake upon arriving near his home.

All the evidence supporting the charges against Mr. Dean is circumstantial, at best.
And a large portion of what there is has been pvroven to have been tampered with, anyway.
There was no evidence placing Dean at the scene of the crime.
There was no evidence that he was driving his car that night, to the contrary, in fact.
Any DA who prosecutes this case is going to end up losing, it's clear, and none of them want that.

I, for one, feel total empathy for the poor bugger who drove drunk, killed a man, got caught disposing of the car, denied everything, refused to apologise, tried to pin it on innocent people, had his friends lie for him online, then fled and and left his friend and girlfriend in jail for him.
