I am not against pot per se, but I think the arrogance of taking drugs in such a public manner here is just plain stupid. Not everyone likes foreigners here, and all it would take is one phone call to totally screw it for them. What also bothers me is the I might end up being in the wrong place at the wrong time should a raid go down

...Word.

Fuck stupidity.

I would likely walk away if someone started doing that near me in public. It's not attracting anything good. I don't appreciate the brash flaunting, nor the trouble it could bring to both me and my family.

What's really pissing me off is that if it's true that the moderators are buying drugs, they're not sharing with me the admin! This is just wrong!

Hay! But ice is a GOOD drug! Why the hate from the people not sharing?

I'm such a fan.
Anyway, "hard" drugs are alluring to people who have run the gamut of the "softer" options, ie. cannabis, hallucinogens. And particularly attractive to musicians and artists who want to prove how much more "hardcore" they are than their peers and how much more "open" they are to "new, potentially inspirational experiences". In my personal opinion, cannabis and LSD are 1000 times more powerful than cocaine and heroin and 1000 times more "potentially inspirational". Cocaine's pussy shit. A true wanker drug. Freebase (crack), on the other hand..."Sucking the devil's cock". Heroin and cocaine are overrated in terms of the high they offer, but the addiction potential is what elevates them. Few people trust themselves to even try the stuff for fear of slavery. Methinks that's the allure. Fear. The "I'm not scared, I'm bigger than that shit" syndrome.

In Taiwan, it's illegal to be a drug user, unlike most western countries. In the west, it's illegal to use drugs, but it's not illegal to be a drug user. In Taiwan, if they have reason to suspect a foreigner for using drugs, they can do a drug test, revoke his visa, and he's out of here.

Let's say I get arrested. Do I have the right to remain silent? Do I have the right to make a phone call? Do I have the right to an attorney? Is that attorney mandated with acting in my best interests? Is there confidentiality between an attorney and his client? Is there a presumption of innocence? Do I have to prove my innocence, or does the court have to prove my guilt? How long can someone be held without charges?

I'm curious about these things, and while it's not that surprising that I don't know the answer, what is surprising to me is that most Taiwanese don't seem to know the answers, either!

(I haven't been arrested, but me being a Canadian, and an English teacher to boot, statistically it's just a matter of time before I start dealing drugs, so this is all good information to know.)
By the way, my real name is Tony. Next time you see me call me by that name.

I am just wondering aloud if Marijuana is really as harmless or as harmful as coffee?

In my personal experience -- almost 40 years of both -- I'd say absolutely not.

I got to try K2 on a recent trip out of the country. Bloody fantastic buzz. Not sure if it's available or legal in Taiwan, but if it is, what a great alternative.

Oh blow me over with a feather! This "pot" thread seems to have attracted the Canadians. Let's tell some Trailer Park Boy jokes now. Oooh! Bubbles really rocks when he acts all deformed! Heheheheh. Pass the joint! Hehehehe!

Bizarrely enough, I've seen much more psychotic behavior from potheads than heroin addicts during my tenure. So the cannabis apologists should really get off their collective hippie high horse and check out the politics of drugs. As I afore mentioned, cannabis is deemed to be somehow "acceptable", yet outlawed. Heroin is deemed to be the ultimate anti-social evil. Yet I fail to grasp the distinction. Will someone with some intelligence please illuminate me?

I tried hypnotherapy, acupuncture and methadone for heroin addiction. None of them worked
