At the end of the day, we had this guy endangering the lives of anybody and everybody near the road. As yourself, if a child had run out in front of the scooter, would that do anything to the way you look at this, or should I brace myself for posts on poor Taiwanese parenting leading to kids on the road late at night, thus causing the child to be hit by Mr DUI and possible die?
You can argue that the cop was in the wrong, however when being attached by a drunk madman almost twice his weight, I can understand that he felt his life in danger and that he acted accordingly.
Holier than you? Holier than what? You do not drink and drive, it's that simple. I have in the past left my car in Taipei and taken a taxi down to Yangmei, easy. And remember - the price of a taxi ride in Taipei is the same as the price for a guiness at the speakeasy. Can afford the extra beer but cannot be bothered to take a taxi?
People driving when drunk deserves whatever, and a shot in the legs, coupled with a prison sentence and a kick out of the country after, sounds about right to me. Support groups on facebook for felons - sheesh . If you want to go see him in prison etc, fine and good, however a public support group? I am ashamed of being associated with something that stupid; wonder what apple daily would think if they found out.
A drunk driver is scum.
... scooter chase and then a fight with the cops - no excuse for that either. He caused all that, even the bullet in his legs.
... will get his well-deserved punishment...
At the end of the day, he fucked up so bad that it's almost funny.
And the pièce de résistance!
