It's my life
It's now or never
I ain't gonna live forever
I just want to drive drunk and stay alive
(It's my life)
My liver is like an open cesspit
Like Apple said
I drink it my way
I just wanna drive drunk and stay alive
It's my life

I agree, and heap scorn and ridicule on everybody drinking and driving. That said, our friend will be punished enough, however again, blame for that is reserved to the man he sees in the mirrow while shaving. I have met so many people here who come here, teaches, do not learn about how the place works, do not really learn the language, however they have a fun year. Instead of heading home, getting into a career track and what have you not, they repeat and repeat that year ad nauseam, and it's all jolly good, until they are 46, have a swelling gut, and no prospects other than teaching till they drop.

They then blame surrounding society (and pencil penises, it seems on taiwanease) on their predicament, if it is one, and well, you see a lot of it here, even though I do not know which expat site here you see most of it on. And since you mentioned it, yes I do sell things out of Taiwan, and I have been doing that for 10 years. I had to close down my Yangmei office recently, however I am getting by, just.

Since you are getting by can you donate to my fund? 20K or so would be nice.

You too must have a bit of spare time on your hands if you are stating facts that, according to you, have no relevance to the matter being discussed

Yeah, it would have been better if he had just been fatally shot, eh? An extra-judicial execution by the roadside for not stopping at a checkpoint and suspected (at this point) drunk driving. Won't sooomebooodyyyyy theeeeeeenk of the cheeeeeeldren?

I am serious when I say "may he live to drink and drive and run a police checkpoint and attack a cop and possibly kill a cheeeeeeldren another day"
It defies logic to run a police checkpoint unless you are already braindead. A fatal shot is simple natural selection if you ask me. Thinning of the herd etc. The drunk zebra is always the one that gets taken down by the lion. I think "Don't drink and drive, or you will be shot dead", might be a good campaign to discourage drinking and driving.

Maybe someone can lend him a passport, so he can do a Zain Dean? Any offers????? :ohreally:

I have ZERO sympathy for drunk drivers. Have a good friend back home whose mom was killed on her way to work one morning, by a drunk driver coming home from the boozer, running a red and T boning her. What about her three children????

Wow

What an awful thing to say. Go on up to the brain trauma ward and the ICU in Lin Ko and look at all the smashed in heads, then just the kids. Ask around which ones were involved in drunk driving accidents and then take a look at their families.

As a parent, the children are exactly who I think about. Taiwanese kids run the streets days and night. And I'll defend their rights to play in the streets at midnight before I ever defend or play down some idiot's drunk runner. :aiyo There is a reason the drunk driver laws have been changed recently. The ERs are flooded with the victims of these selfish destructive assholes. No, it would have been better if the grown man had chosen not to get so inebriated in the first place. Then it would have better once drunk if he had called a taxi. You might think B2G was this close to tragedy, well I've been this close to being a victim. I didn't like the feeling that I would never seen my son again, or that my wife would be paralyzed or dead or that they would be without me. I don't have the fingers to count the dead in just the foreign community to come from DD wrecks, in Taipei, Taichung, Kaohsiung and so many Kending that it doesn't even phase me anymore.

You mock concern for children? The fuck is wrong with you? (worry)

Hope that doesn't embarrass you, E.

No, it doesn't remotely embarrass me. The police also could have shot those children. It was wrong to fire a gun in the street because a guy went through a checkpoint. You are conflating concern for drunk-driving and concern for a traffic policeman shooting someone from behind in the dark. Both are a serious concern to anyone in Taiwan, not just children.

I'm also not mocking children, I'm mocking the 'he desrved to die in case he killed someone' simpletons, if that wasn't clear.

The "E" I was referring to wasn't you Channa. It was the OP, a friend of mine whom I respect quite a lot. I don't really care what you think. Your moral compass is all over the place. Cops do what they have to do. Has the cop been suspended or fired for wrongdoing? Not that I know of. End of story. You have the suspect now in the dark, turned around. Soon he'll be cowering and begging for his life. Get real. You don't know any more what happened than the next vapid poster.

I don't think B2G deserved to die and have never said anything remotely close to that. You're taking exaggerated speech from angry people too literally.

channamasla:What the flying crap is a 'moral compass?' Bravado with an element of bandwagon-jumping groupthink?

Coming from the queen of pointing out white/male privilege, that is rich.
