He did not kill anybody nor was he convicted of such a crime nor did he escape Taiwan. He facilitated an exit of Taiwan either knowingly or unknowingly. We can see that Dean's gf, although also getting punished, was absolved of helping Dean hide evidence in the case. Would that have occurred if she was a foreigner? I have my doubts.
David was held under indefinite detention laws that breach European Human rights (yes I know this is not Europe), and therefore I don't think anybody should be celebrating this type of justice system. So I think it's highly unlikely the British govt will have any further interest after his release. Indeed it must be a legal minefield given non recognition of Taiwan and the use of these detention tactics to extract a confession. The confession would not be admissable in European courts as it was extracted under duress.
Most people don't make these kinds of decisions for financial rewards, and I highly doubt that was the major motivating factor here, most likely he thought he was doing a good deed and that he wouldn't be caught.
Issues like face that has been lost should be ignored but we know it doesn't always work like that. I hope that the judge goes easy on him considering his served detention time and admission of guilt.
HH11 he was held on remand after being charged with criminal offences, just like they do in Europe and the UK. He wasn't held under any laws that breach European Human Rights laws.
Secondly he plead guilty. It doesn't matter if Chris 邱凱 thought he was doing a good deed and wouldn't get caught. He committed crimes, and he did it for financial reward. IF he thought he wouldn't get caught then he should take that up with the people who gave him such bad advice. I guess sooner or later he'll be best mates again with ZD when he eventually gets deported back to the UK. Don't forget Chris could face more charges and jail time in the UK as well.
Zain Dean himself has also stated Chris sold him the passport. It's not like this isn't public knowledge even for the prosecutors.
